I apologize if I am filing this in the wrong place. It is not really an "Appion" issue but was not sure what other proejct to file it under.
SO there are a few issues I would like fixed:
1. Clint and I used to get email when a new project was filled in. We are not receiving these and thus not contacting the filer. Please could someone look into this.
2. It would be nice if we could automatically give the project some recognizable useful name. Right now the name defaults to "User-dd.mm.yyyy" or something like that. It would be good if the user could select a short (<10 characters say) name and the project was then named "User - short name". Currently this is what I do by hand and I just choose something based on their description. Other ideas also welcome.
3. There are a a few abandoned test projects languishing in the project list. Maybe a couple of them are real and needed. Can the others please be deleted.

1. I will double check on this. This might be related to when we moved the new NRAMM website from test server to live server.
2. I can change to this way if no one has better suggestion.
3. Can someone give me a list of project need to be deleted, then I will deleted it. In the feature we will create a delete or hide function to take care this.

Eric,
There is a hidden field in projects table and I see that it is included in projectDBSchema.xml which means outside installation will get the field, too. You can work from there. Do make sure that the query excludes hidden ones both in projects/inc/project.inc.php and in inc/project.inc.
User defined short name probably will work.

Do we want to clean our project database and implement the hidden functionality? or don't delete the un-want projects?

Best to activate hide function but not delete the project. It is easy to delete project but not as easy to delete experiments. However, if you delete one not the other, project links to experiments will be broken. Most people don't write their session description detailed enough to ensure that we can tell later on which project it is collected under if we lose the link.
