After giving this more thought and trying a couple of implementations, I think it is better to stick with a relative path. It is difficult to form a good algorithm b/c the path to check.sh and the location of the troubleshooter could change and the install directory could have a name other than myami or not even contain myami in the name. I played with os.walk to find the appion dir without success. I may play with this some more, but for now will leave the path relative.
