en Beam size measure tool requested for Leginon

Currently we manually measure the beam size we use for en at a lower magnification to be certain that the beam for multiple exposures in one hole does not overlap the area where the detector collects an en later in that hole. It would be very useful if there was some way we could enter this value and get a GUI to display the potential problem. AutoEMation had such a tool which was a simple circle displayed in hole mode depicting the beam size with a square or rectangle for K2 depicting the detector size. AutoEMation even lowered the mag collected and image and asked you to draw a circle to indicate the beam size on this image. This is a tedious and often forgotten detail that inexperienced users do not think of. Thanks.

This is a feature we've never got to put it to high enough priority to do it. We have the beam centering tool that requires the same mechanism which can be used as the base for this but I only dare to use that tool on scintillater covered light-sensitive sensors such as the CCD's and Tietz CMOS detectors where high exposure dose is not a concern.

My main concern in doing this on doing this on DD such as K2,DE, and Falcon is that a lower magnification image with the same beam size means higher intensity on the senser per pixel. Therefore could potentially damage the sensor or simply induce it to retract. I will see if I can come up with another way to calibrate the beam size where it is not already provided by the scope software and/or impose a limit on the magnification to be reduced.
