new dbemtools problem

Added by Anonymous over 17 years ago

I've started to get an error message appearing on the page when I go to the dbemtools page on the system that runs Leginon and dbemtools (i.e. at http://bmsd027.leeds.ac.uk/dbem_1_4_1/ where bmsd027 is the system that Leginon and the webserver runs on). I did not make any changes to the set up of Leginon or dbemtools before these problems started to occur. The problems did start some time during a long Leginon run. The error message I get on the main dbemtools page is "no DB connection to: hostname: bmsd027 database: dbemdata3 user: usr_object". I do seem to be able login as usr_object to access the database running mysql. Also, I appear to be able to browse tables okay (while logged in as usr_object) in phpMyAdmin. The problems continued after rebooting. It would be nice to have a suggestion for how to fix this problem as I depend on being able to quickly browse through images with a web browser, which requires dbemtools to be working of course,

Sorry, I didn't completely describe the problem. Apart from the error message the page at http://bmsd027.leeds.ac.uk/dbem_1_4_1/ displays okay. However, none of the links to the various tools work any more. A blank page pops up in each case. It does not give a 404 not found error or anything like that. It is possible that it will eventually time out and give such an error and it looks like the attempted display of the pages with the various tools is hanging in some way,

Looks like I've fixed the problem. It appears that it was my fault - I did do some stuff to the network configuration on the system recently. (The confusing thing is that all of the other network related things were working.) I assume that was the problem although I'm assuming that it couldn't have been a kernel module/ driver for a new network adapter that was at fault in particular (rather than the attempt at network settings for USB network adapter.) Anyway, dbemtools started to work after I deleted the network settings for the new network adapter and then rebooted,
