Upgrade to Leginon System version 3.0 from version 21 (Linux)
Added by ShinBo Chen over 10 years ago
Could I just upgrade to Leginon System version 3.0 from version 21 ,not upgrade version 22 from version 21 first ?
Is there any auto-update script we can used easily?
Thanks anyone for help

You can. However, you will need to pay attention to the changes to configuration files from 2.1 to 2.2 on top of those from 2.2 to 3.0
Make sure you do these as they are covered only in 2.1 to 2.2 upgrade:
Check_Cs_value_match_before_using_Leginon_after_update
and
adding zplane definition to Instruments.cfg
Unfortunately, there is no auto-update script. 3.0 is a major release. It includes a change of CentOS 5 to CentOS 6 supporting packages requirement for processing and web server.
Since you have separate servers for each component, you can leave your database server alone, therefore easily preserve the old data, and only upgrade your processing and web servers by a clean installation of CentOS 6 and 3.0 and then run dbschema update once the database server is connected to them.
