Image location error

Added by Bob Grassucci almost 12 years ago

While trying to collect a dose image through Leginon, I get the following error in the DM output window:
An error occurred acquiring an image for SerialEM:
D:frames\20130211_21053327\frame_001.mrc

D drive exists, but no image was written there.

Where are the frames saved? Or can we specify the save location? We would like to save them directly to our image server.

While attempting image capture with manual application get following error in DM output window

An error occurred acquiring an image for SerialEM:
D:frames\20130212_12574501\frame_001.mrc

An error occurred acquiring an image for SerialEM:
Failed to open above file: No such file or directory

Does the directory D:frames exist and writable ? The Leginon script only creates directory and write files in the existing D:frames.

The script does not create the parent d:/frames directory but just subdirectories correct? Is there a way we can send the frames directly to our server and not the camera computer? Is this hard coded or can we change it?

Yes, it only saves subdirectories. You can change the base path in pyscope/gatank2.py under the function calculateFileSavingParams.

While saving the frames directly to your file server will save you transfer time later, it may slow down the data acquisition since saving files to local drive is faster and DM will not allow a new image acquisition until the frames are saved. Let us know if it works out for you. Our network is too slow to give this a try.

We have a file server plugged directly into the camera server with a fast network card. Hopfully it will be fast enough. We will let you know how it works out.

We got the images to wher ewe wanted them on our image server but leginon saved 33 frames rather than 10 as we wanted. I set the exposure time for 4000 ms and the readout delay at 400 ms. If I understand the interface correctly this should give me 10 exposures. Another thing that is a bit unclear what does frames to use signify? Mabe a short desciption of these settings would be helpful.

Another problem we have is that leginon is collecting an uncorrected image even though corrected is selected. See screenshot attached.
