Fedora 19: mysql update breaks mysqld
Added by Jason de la Cruz almost 11 years ago
Just a note to Fedora 19 x86_64 users using MariaDB as MySQL server:
As of 13 Jan 2014, the latest mariadb update (1:5.5.34-1.fc19) may break mysqld functionality (can no longer start mysqld once update is applied) thus affecting Leginon. The latest confirmed working version is 1:5.5.33a-1.fc19. If you have already applied mariadb version 1:5.5.34-1.fc19 and are having a hard time restarting mysqld, you may simply downgrade to the previous version using the `yum downgrade` command, making sure that there are no other conflicting repositories in /etc/yum.repos.d/:
sudo yum downgrade mariadb-server mariadb-libs mariadb-devel mariadb
