Time between acquisition using Leginon with a Gatan K2 Summit
Added by Christopher Lilienthal over 10 years ago
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to estimate the time between acquiring "movies" in counted mode and super-resolution mode (If there is any significant difference). We are trying to get a feel for the network bandwidth that could/will be used transferring images from the controlling PC to the storage.
Thanks for any help you may be able to provide,
Chris

For a typical 25 frame movie (and atypical 50 ms frame time so that the exposure time (1.25 s) is not dominant), here are the numbers:
Mode | save movie? | time (s) |
Counted | No | 3.7 |
Counted | Yes | 20.0 |
Super-res | No | 11.6 |
Super-res | Yes | 42.7 |
This timing is done with DM 2.30, through the getImage call in pyscope directly on the K2 computer. It does not include transferring of the image to outside Gatan's local 10 GB network and the mrc frame files were saved on its D drive (non SSD).
