Errors while starting Leginon

Added by Anonymous almost 18 years ago

Hi Jim I tried modifying the sqldic.py file and I ran leginon again. Here are the errors I am now encountering:

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|dimension|x None <type 'NoneType'>

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|dimension|y None <type 'NoneType'>

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|offset|x None <type 'NoneType'>

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|offset|y None <type 'NoneType'>

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|binning|y None <type 'NoneType'>

subSQLColumns failed <class 'data.CameraSettingsData'> SUBD|binning|x None <type 'NoneType'>

I tried ignoring these errors and went on to leginon set up. I then ran the application. The screen the shows up when I click on instruments does not allow me to enter values for magnification, intensity etc.

Thanks,

Poojitha

This is a message we have seen before. I think it may only relate to having no settings in the database yet. Try to see if it causes any problem in the long run (like maybe you are unable to acquire an image).

For the other problem regarding not being able to change values in the Instrument node:

This is the natural behavior of this node. It is not actively able to know the current state of the microscope, so whenever you want to see the current values, click on the refresh button. This may take a few seconds to update all the values. This also should activate all the controllers and you should be able to enter in new values to set the microcsope.

Also, the warning message "No magnifications saved..." indicates that the Leginon database is not currently aware of what magnifications are available. To enter all the magnifications into the database, click on the little calculator button next to the refresh button. This will automatically cycle through all the mags on your microscope and store them into the database. This only needs to be done once for any microscope. The next time you start Leginon, you should not see the warning.
