Square targeting - Atlas image display
Added by Anonymous almost 20 years ago
Hello Everyone,
Does anyone have a suggestion for improving the quality of the atlas display within leginon?
I am finding that I have to open the web browser to look at the atlas because the downsampling is so dramatic that I can't see much except for the outline of the squares.
Should I optimize the exposure setting for more contrast, or is there a way to decrease the downsampling in the square targeting display window?
Thanks,
Jonny Sexton

Hi, Jonny,
The way to change the atlas display binning can be found in the full manual
under the chapeter "Node description" and section "Mosaic Click Target
Finder", although I admit that it is not clear operationally.
If you've already have an atlas in display, you need to
1. go under Toolbar/Mosaic Settings/
2. change "the maximal size the image is scaled to" to the size you prefer.
3. click "Apply". Note that this step is important if you want your
change to affect the atlas that is currently in display.
4. click "Create". This will recreate the atlas image in display.
5. exit the settings and continue.
If you have not yet loaded the atlas, you don't need to do step 3 and 4.

Wonderful,
Thank you Anchie! This really helps. Now I can differentiate ice quality for square targeting. I upped the setting to 1024 pixels.
Now I don't have to leave leginon to visually pick the best squares.
Thanks,
Jonny
