Using different holders with Leginon 1.6
Added by Anonymous over 15 years ago
Hi all, I have a question regarding the holder calibration using different holders (e.g. a Gatan cryo holder and/or a room temperature tomography holder) with Leginon 1.6: Since Leginon 1.6 offers the option to specify specific holders at the beginning of a session, I would assume that a separate stage calibration, at least a modelled stage calibration as well as the magnification and image rotation adjustments have to be done for each holder. Of course different labels can be used for different holder calibrations. However, I am wondering how Leginon 1.6 deals with the calibration data and in particular with the different stage models. As far as I remember, with previous Leginon versions, one could store different calibration data, but only the latest stage model was used. Are stage models now stored separately in the data base for each holder? Does Leginon 1.6 automatically select the appropiate calibrations and models upon selecting a certain holder at the beginning of a (new) session? It should work this way. Otherwise one would have to create the models each time swapping between the holders...

The holder assignment so far is only as a record for possible difference in drift characteristics. The calibration is no different. If anyone find it necessary to separate calibration by holder, please let us know.
