h1. DD Frame Alignment Server Installation

Frame-saving capable direct detectors saves a "movie" of during the exposure.  To perform frame alignment described in "Li et. al. Nat Methods. 2013 Jun;10(6):584-90":http://www.nature.com/nmeth/journal/v10/n6/full/nmeth.2472.html, you need a separate computer to do the alignment xterm accessible from other computers with ssh.

In addition to the typical [[Processing_Server_Installation|Leginon processing server installation]], you need to do these add these steps:

h2. Install Appion sub-package from NRAMM

h2. In webserver installation in the next section, activate Appion processing.
