installation error

Added by Anonymous over 14 years ago

Hi
We tried install Leginon and got following errors while executing 'updatecom.py':
- Tecnai Scripting: Error cannot find dypelib for "Tecnai Scripting"
- Tecnai Scripting: Error, cannot find typelib for "TEM Scripting"
- TOM Moniker: Error, cannot find typelib for "TOMMoniker 1.0 Type Library"
- Tecnai Low Dose Kit: Error, cannot find typelib for "Low Dose Server Library"
- Tecnai Exposure Adaptor: Error, cannot find typelib for "adaExp Library"
- Gatan CCD Camera: Error, cannot find typelib for "TecnaiCCD 1.0 Type Library"
- Tietz CCD Camera: Error, cannot find typelib for "CAMC4 1.0 Type Library"

Here is a Screenshot of it:

Our setup:
We have 2 Windows computers. One is controlling the microscope (PC1) and one is controlling the camera and the rest (PC2)
These two are connected via P2P and PC2 is connected to the rest of the network, but PC1 has no connection to the rest of the network
These errors occur on both computers.
Are these Errors normal?

Thanks for your help
Alex

I have never seen this case where they all fail. Try running this script: C:\Python25\Lib\site-packages\win32com\client\makepy.py
It will pop up a list of all the Typelibs for you to search. Look for each of those listed in the updatecom.py script.
The PC connected to the Tecnai should have "Tecnai Scripting" or "TEM Scripting". If not, check with your FEI service rep to see if they can fix it. Maybe the Tecnai Scripting is actually not installed or is not properly registered. The PC connected to Gatan camera should have "TecnaiCCD", but this could be misplaced. It is the scripting interface to the Gatan camera, but it is created by FEI, so not sure who you should contact if it is missing. Try searching both PCs for tecnaiccd.dll.
In the latest SVN revision of pyscope, we have a very new updatecom.py, so you could try to see if it works better, but if makepy.py does not find these Typelibs, then updatecom.py will not find them either.

Hi
it seems, that the problem was with the pyScope, the NumPy or the SciPy
We recompiled them and then it worked.
(I didn"t do it so I don't know exactly what caused the problem)
