The current version of pyScope (1.0.5) requires that adaExp be installed on your Tecnai computer, although this may change in the next release of pyScope (hopefully in the next 24 hours).

adaExp is a plugin for the Tecnai software that includes some extra functions for Tecnai scripting (like film exposures). It is not installed by default on your Tecnai system, and we are not allowed to distribute it, so you will need to get it directly from FEI. Please contact Max Otten: mto@nl.feico.com

Let him know what version of the Tecnai user interface you are using so he can send you the corresponding adaExp.

Once you have adaexp.exe on your computer, register it using the command line:

adaexp.exe /regserver

Then you need to run the pyScope script called updatecom.py, or just reinstall pyScope, which will run this script for you. In either case, this will allow pyScope to use your newly installed adaExp.
