SerialEM, DM, K2, gain references

Hi,
I realize most users probably do not try and acquire gain references via DM, but we have to since we are just starting the process of implementing Leginon. For the moment we must use DM until Leginon is functional for production.
When we attempt to prepare gain references a viewing window opens with what appears to be a live image, but there is a green bar at the top and the bottom quarter of the view "blinks" randomly. We are unable to complete the process....
This began after installing SEMCCD-GMS2-64.dll into the C:\Program Files\Gatan\Plugins folder and registering it with the OS. I've unregistered and removed the dll and tried to place it in C:\ProgramData\Gatan\Plugins and register it with the OS with the same results. I've also tried to use the most up to date SEMCCD-GMS2-64.dll with the two previous procedures with the same problems. Once I removed the dll and completely rebooted the system and its peripherals the original behavior returned.
The K2 Summit is the only camera on the microscope and we are using DM version 2.21.1658.0.
Has anyone seen this problem or heard of it??

Even with Leginon working, we still need to acquire dark/gain reference in DM for hardware correction. Our DM version is 2.21.1586.0 We have not seen this behavior. I have not heard of it, either. I've forwarded your posting to Gatan and SerialEM contacts. Maybe they will have some input.

Neither David M. nor Chris B. has heard of this happening. I do have two questions that need confirmation from you.
1. Leginon wasn't running ( as in Leginon Client opened) during this. Right?
2. What port did you assign as SERIALEMCCD_PORT ? Maybe there is a conflict there with what is needed by DM.

1. Correct, Leginon client or server were not running.

Thank you for the responses. As an aside, when you open the K2 Control dialog box where you can turn the system on and off if you press manufacturing info do all the numbers come up correctly? For two ADC boards we get a y with two dots over it....

You might want to try a larger number. We recommend >= 50000.
When you later open Leginon Client on the instrument computer, it will use 55555 and a port in the range of 49152-49999 (Normally on the low-end). See Ports_used_by_Leginon
Our manufacturing information came up normal with all numbers. It might be time to contact Gatan.
