Fringe-free imaging
Added by Liang Tang almost 4 years ago
Dear Anchi,
Is Leginon compatible with fringe-free imaging of ThermoFisher? Is there any additional operation(s) or software patch(es) or nothing needs to be done at the Leginon side? It'll be appreciated if you provide some info' as we are considering such upgrading.
Thanks.
Liang

As far as I know, there is no conflict nor need to change from leginon side. Fringe-free alignment has limited mag range from what I've heard, so you will need to adjust your presets for it.

A follow-up question: is Leginon client compatible with Windows 10? This is because TFS requires the OS on microscope PC to be upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for fringe-free imaging. Just want to confirm on it. Thanks.

Yes, we had a few unique solutions to each Windows 10 scopes we have done this depending on how TFS does its installation regarding where it can install, but it works in general. The most reliable one is to install the 64-bit version using the FEI build-in python. On some scopes but not others we can still do 32-bit installation that keeps us independent.
The main issue is wxpython must be installed with the registered python. I can help if there are issues.
