commit:9b99ea5c adds initial version. mysqld_safe is no longer available in CentOS 7. Users will need to follow https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33374314/can-not-login-to-mysql-5-7-9-after-change-password to change mysql root password.

Notes from an install in Jun 2018
mariadb appears to be pre-installed on CentOS 7 now. just need to be started.
xmipp2 does not compile with python 2.7 need to be taken out of the installation.

added mariadbYumInstall function to install mariadb-server since I was probably wrong about mariadb preinstallation.
