Feature #5928
openExport metadata file at end of session?

Description
Hi Anchi,
As mentioned before, I think it would be really helpful if it was possible to export selected per-micrograph metadata to a simple text file (e.g. STAR or CSV format).
To get around issues of repeated database access, perhaps all this data could be extracted/written at once, at the end of a session?
It would be very helpful for users, particularly users that don't have convenient onsite access or who are not very familiar with Appion, to be able to access this info in an easily scriptable, digestible fashion. It would also automatically provide a permanent record of data collection parameters to users, that could be used in future to perhaps improve the quality of the processing of said data (e.g. see beam tilt correction in relion 3).
The following metadata would be particularly useful:
1. stage x/y/z
2. ice thickness (objective scattering or ZLP, depending on what is available)
3. Drift per frame, drift between the first two frames (if motion correction has been run)
4. Cs and nominal pixel size (just so that if I get data from someone I don’t have to check these parameters)
5. Total dose per Å^2, if available
6. CTF est. resolution and confidence.
7. Beam image shift or estimated beam tilt (magnitude and direction?)
Together, those parameters should allow for easy sorting and discarding of bad stacks, as well as prioritizing the very best ones (thin ice, good signal etc) for further processing - what do you think, would this be possible?
Cheers
Oli
