using both DDD and CCD with Leginon
Added by @Maria Janssen over 12 years ago
Hi, we had a discussion with Dr. Liang Jin recently and we will be installing a direct detector device on the polara in addition to the CCD camera. We will only have it for a short period of time, so I would like to make sure there won't be too many surprises regarding leginon data collection. So, I have a couple of questions in advance if you don't mind:
1) Leginon runs now in conjunction with the CCD camera. However, Dr. Jin said that only the beta version is able to work with the DDD. Is this now incorporated into the current version V22?
2) Since the pixelsize of the DDD is much smaller, are there any things I should keep in mind, eg should I redo any other calibrations than the pixelsize calibration?
3) I need to set up leginon so that it takes all images on CCD, except for the final exposure, which will be on the DDD. Is this a feature only still available in the beta version?
Thanks!!

- Yes, 2.2 which is in the final phase of getting release now, have DE12 support.
- You will need to adjust the scope magnification you use for DD data collection like what you correctly pointed out. And that does mean new calibrations against DE12. DDD behaves differently from CCD in exposure time settings which I will write documentation for this week to coordinate with the release.
- The automatic retraction of camera at different "z plane" as we call it, will be availble in 2.2 as well.

Thanks a lot for your reply!
Do you know the approximate date of release of this new version?
