Appion code freeze in effect

Description
Hello Appion Developers!
We have decided to release Appion 2.2 without the changes required to support CentOS 6 in the next couple of weeks. The changes for CentOS 6 (codenamed REDUX) will be realeased shortly after as Appion 3.0. We decided that there are sufficiently major changes to the code to warrent a new major release number, and this way folks still running centOS 5.x can still benefit from additions and fixes of the past year without upgrading their OS.
I'll be creating a Test Matrix this week to do a thourough test of the 2.2 release candidate code. We have found it easier to hold off creating a new branch for the release until bug fix checkins have dwindled to avoid merge errors.
So, a code freeze will be in effect until we create the 2.2 branch (1-2 weeks). This means no new features please! However bug fixes are very welcome. Of course if someone really needs to add a new feature to the trunk before that time, let me know and we can do the branch early.
Thank you for your understanding.
Amber
The new 2.2 branch has been created with r16528.
The Trunk code freeze has now been lifted. You are welcome to check in new features into the Trunk.
Please remember that we are maintaining the 2.2 branch as CentOS 5.x compatible and moving forward the Trunk will be CentOS 6.x compatible. In the near future we will merge code into the trunk that will NO LONGER WORK on CentOS 5.x. Please do not check code into the Trunk if it is not CentOS 6 compatible.
A note about bug fixes: If you check in a bug fix that you feel folks using 2.x would really like to have, please set your issue status to "Merge" and assign it to Amber or Anchi. We will handle all merges.
I will be busy for the next week or so updating the installation tools and documentation to make an official 2.2 release.
I will also make changes requested by Scott to better support his computing environment.
Concurrently, we are working on CentOS 6 and EMAN compatibility and hope to release an Appion 3.0 version for CentOS 6 within a month or two.
Questions welcome.
