Feature request: input session name
Added by Carl Negro about 7 years ago.
Updated over 6 years ago.
Description
We have 4916 sessions in the database at NYSBC. For users with admin access, it would be a lot easier to input a session name and click "OK" rather than scrolling for 10 seconds to access a session from a few months ago.
Related feature request: only show the last 1000 sessions in the viewer, with a "list all sessions" button to get the current behavior.
I support both ideas. But also note that you can limit the number of experiments by choosing a particular project and that once you have either the project or the experiment window pull down menu you can reach a particular experiment by typing its name; e.g. 15jul07a will take you straight to tht experiment.

I tried this on semcweb in Safari. Selecting show all sessions refresh the viewer but still gave me truncated list.
I like the idea of not listing all session and having "list all sessions" option. Slow response time will only increase as more sessions are added. This has been bugging me since this get slower with latest version of Firefox. I've implemented this and it's live now. It will show first 100 session and when you select "List all sessions" it will show all session. To get back to listing first 100 sessions only, hit Enter on the url bar.
Hope this will be appreciated and liked by all admins.
Anchi, I've tested this on Firefox and Chrome on Windows and on Safari and Chrome on Mac. It works on all browsers including Safari. Maybe you can show me what are you doing. Is anyone else having an issue?

Carl, does this work for you? It's using session cookies to remember that a user clicked on "List all sessions". This is really helpful since I'm checking for recently added FIM-SEM images. Thanks.
