Install Imod¶

IMOD is used for tomography processing developed primarily by David Mastronarde, Rick Gaudette, Sue Held, Jim Kremer, and Quanren Xiong at the Boulder Laboratory for 3-D Electron Microscopy of Cells.

Go to http://bio3d.colorado.edu/imod/ for download and installation instruction.

To use it with Appion, its bin directory need to be in user's direct path and its lib directory in LD_LIBRARY_PATH in addition to other IMOD environment variable that is set in a typical installation.

Appion scripts creates and run vms-styled IMOD command files like what eTomo produces and they do not use the gui (eTomo, 3dmod etc.) from IMOD package.
