Appion

h1. Install Protomo

The "protomo" package contains programs and shell scripts for electron tomography of thin specimens. Developed by H. Winkler, et. al. at Florida State University.

The package is available at

http://www.electrontomography.org/software.html

To use it with Appion, the environment variable PROTOMOROOT need to be set to the installed package and its bin and x86_64/bin directory need to be in user's path.

Appion does not use the user interface come with the package, just the shell scripts and programs called by them.
