Description

When running ctffind3 from different install (longboard/cronus3 - myamiweb/betamyamiweb) it seems that different conventions are used to define micrograph defocus: in some cases underfocus is defined as negative while it is positive in some others. As a result when looking at the ctffind estimation results in the image viewer, micrographs from a single data set have a mixture of postive and negative focus values but are all under focus.

  • Affected Version changed from Appion/Leginon 2.1.0 to Appion/Leginon 2.2.0

This bug also makes the ctf values pull out from prepRefineFrealign and makestack become a mixture of positive and negative because, once in the database, appion can not tell which version it comes from and getBestCtfValue function would take whatever has highest confidence.

This should be fixed with a schema update and everyone running the newer version of myami
