Ab Initio Reconstruction

This section contains procedures for calculating initial models from tilted and untilted datasets.

Initial Model Procedures:

  1. Random Conical Tilt Reconstruction: Obtain 3D structure from tilted data (typically -55,0).
  2. Orthogonal Tilt Reconstruction: Obtain a 3D structure from data collected at 2 tilts (typically -45,0,45)
  3. EMAN Common Lines Reconstruction: Obtain a 3D structure from untilted 2D data containing randomly oriented molecules.
  4. IMAGIC Angular Reconstitution: Obtain a 3D structure from untilted 2D data containing randomly oriented molecules.
