Amber, Jim, and I are entering the CTF playground to stabilize the new feature by the end of the week

I will create three sub issues for this for three different tasks:

1. Unit testing for different programs and database interaction.
2. Compatibility with existing data.
   • Old data need to be visible in the minimal.
3. Reversal of the changes if needed.
   • This is the backup plan. If we fail, we will revert Neil's change. That means defocus goes back to underfocus is negative and confidence values as before.

Please add in this if there are more we need to deal with.
